Grounding for Protection

One of the questions that is often asked on our training courses is how can I protect myself from other people’s energy and one of the first ways we always suggest is to practice staying grounded.

Staying grounded means to stay present with your body and stay connected to the earth, which allows you to stay centered and balanced no matter what is going on around you.

A good analogy is to think of a tree with an enormous canopy of branches overhead and then to imagine that underneath the ground where it stands are the roots which expand as far below ground as the canopy of branches stretches above.

When the root is deep there is no reason to fear the wind – Chinese Proverb

There are lots of way you can practice grounding yourself and they include:

  • Walking barefoot outdoors, or simply place your feet on the floor and wriggle your toes until you can feel that stability from the earth again
  • Mindfully choose a rock or a stone to represent a connection to the earth, meditate with it and once that subtle connection has been made, carry it in your pocket every day as a constant reminder to feel grounded
  • If you have a knowledge of Kinesiology you could run through the grounding/centering techniques you have learned on our courses
  • Give yourself a foot rub
  • Do a meditation which focuses on the root chakra – the root chakra is connected with grounding

There are many more ways to stay grounded which we will be teaching you in detail on a brand new workshop we are offering this Summer called ‘Self Inquiry’

We’ve created this workshop to help you connect more deeply with yourself in a safe environment, because we believe that the best practitioners of health care are always the ones who are on their own inner journeys. You see when we know ourselves deeply we are able to stay neutral for the other and call on our inner wisdom as well as techniques to guide the healing.

If you’d like to find out more about our Self Inquiry workshop where we will not only be teaching you how to practice grounding but how to self inquire and how to deepen your meditation practice too CLICK HERE.
