We Love Yanley Court
As another Kinesiology Foundation course ended this weekend we gathered as we always do to take our group photo outside our gorgeous training venue in Long Ashton – and we think you’ll agree it looks like we are basking in the sultry Mediterranean sunshine. So why is our venue so perfect? Well it is based on the outskirts of Bristol in a pretty village called Long Ashton, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with free and plentiful parking (a rarity in the day and age) and views from the loft space (where our classes our held) across open fields. We often catch students watching the horses, the woodpeckers, the rabbits and even the foxes from the windows (which run from the length of the floor to ceiling) in the breaks.
Although it can get quite hot and sticky in the kind of weather we have been experiencing this Summer, we can create a through-draft with open windows and fans … and there is plenty of outdoor shady space for the breaks, and a cooler place to sit and chat downstairs on the sofa and comfy chairs.
In the colder months of the year, the heating and the lights are turned on inside and the landscape outside changes dramatically. Our classes usually finish around 5-5.30 which means in the Winter time we are still workshopping when it begins to get dark but there is a really sense of feeling safe and cosy in this city retreat.
We simply love teaching at Yanley and the amazing feedback from our local, national and sometimes international students love it too. We think this is heightened because of the way we teach Kinesiology, you see for us Kinesiology becomes even more powerful when you are fully connected (to yourself, to each other and to nature) and Yanley Court helps us connect with all of our senses through being immersed in, and surrounded by nature.
‘Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.’ – Albert Einstein
